Solar & Storage in 2026: What Buyers Are Actually Ordering

Portable power stations are outselling wall batteries 3:1. We break down the models, specs and certifications driving the demand.

Solar & Storage in 2026: What Buyers Are Actually Ordering

The short version: buyers are ordering smaller, portable units first and wall batteries second. Across our RFQs this year, portable power stations outnumber home wall batteries roughly three to one.

The sweet spot is 500W-1200W with LiFePO4 chemistry, a pure sine inverter, and at least one AC outlet that can surge. Those three specs now dominate what wholesalers ask us to quote.

Certification is where deals die. For the EU market the CE + RoHS + UN38.3 trio is table stakes, and REACH is increasingly requested. Buyers who skip this conversation end up with customs holds, not containers.

Wall batteries are slower but stickier: fewer units, higher value, and buyers reorder the same model for years once they've certified the install base. If you can only enter one, enter portable first.
